Hi, I know you dont know me but I will see you at the next meeting. I have been a fence sitting skeptic for years and have finally decided I have to do something. I went to buy something to help my 6 month old daughter with her teething pain and was given the option of Bonjela or homeopathy. If I did not know about homeopathy I might have bought it thinking that two suggestions from a trained pharmacist would be the same. I could have caused my child not life threatening pain but avoidable pain by buying a unregulated and poorly labeled product. People trust pharmacies to help make decisions about health care. If someone wants homeopathy it should be available at alternative health shops not from a fully trained Pharmacist. I would like to produce an open letter to all New Zealand pharmacies asking them to go back to what they do best. I however have very little experience in how this would work. I need help in producing the letter. Google 'open letter to Australian Pharmacies' I think we could do better.
Now that this group has over 160 members, it?s going to take a while (in the hour and a bit each month) for everyone to meet each other. I myself would love to meet more clear minded critical thinkers.
I propose we have another meeting in between our regular meetups.
My thoughts for the second meeting would be;
1. To attract people who maybe can?t make the main meetup
2. It would be in the 3rd week in the month
3. On a different night, for those who cant do a Thursday
4. More Casual
5. No Speaker or quiz
I haven?t really thought much about location, whether we use the same place or somewhere else.
But what do you think??? Yes, would love too?, Nah, it?s a dumb idea?, Ideas?
Regards,
Alex
Seeing that TAM returns to Sydney, how about we have some events to coincide with it. For those that won't be attending.
