Hi - I have joined this group just to meet some like-minded people, enjoy some intelligent conversation, and of course to drink beer.
"I am a strong atheist. I left religion behind at 19, after I heard a lecture by the Nobel Prize-winning physicist Dr. Richard Feynman in Auckland, 1979. Asked about god, he said science left no room for god. First time I had heard someone say that."
This group is great for having deeply interesting discussions with like-minded people, while enjoying a fine beverage.

"I was in contact with Vicky Hyde a few months ago about getting PZ Myers over to NZ in March after the Aussie Atheists Conference. It could be a goer. And I know he likes beer. :-)"
"I am @sminhinnick"
"I am seeing if some of my sons' friends want to come along as well, so I have not yet placed my booking. But definitely coming."
"I intend to bring my two boys, who both like magic and comedy for some reason."
"Yes, I watched those great videos, looking for the question I asked him about his safecracking days at Los Alamos. Off Topic I know, but the only thing I could think to ask him at the time (I was only 17)...."
"Fascinating discussion. I did physics at Auckland to an undergraduate level, but switched to computer science. However I have kept an interest in QM, at what you would call an "advanced laymans" level...."
