Apparently if he comes out and sees his shadow, we'll have another 2 weeks of winter...

I think what that article tries to say goes more along the lines of: "Oh my god, people might have forgotten about me, ME, and we can't have that! The boogie man is out to get me! Look, look, I'm still here! And in DANGER!"

Bloody idiot.

Hehe, clever.

I'm surprised they called him a weather astrologer?

I was going to say more in my original post, but hit the delete key...

...here I go again...

Does anyone else think he's fabricated it all, to get publicity? Do you think Ken's trying to implicate skeptics as they're mentioned in the article? I can't imagine any skeptics sending out death threats? biggrin What kind of person would do that? I'm wondering, has he managed to piss off any of his believers? Hence the title of this thread.

The long answer:

While I'm open to the possibilty that KR has recieved death threats, my interactions with him lead me to suspect that he's making them up (or at least wildly exagerating).

If he is recieving death threats, I doubt that they're coming from skeptics. (The odds are very strongly in favour of it being a trubee)

And yes - I wouldn't put it past KR to have sent this in as a press release to get more attention. (And very possibly to attempt to implicate skeptics.)

@vIQleS my thoughts exactly.

I'm picturing a mob of village folk chasing him with farming implements and lit torches. biggrin Isn't that what used to happen to Astrologers in the dark ages when their predictions were wrong? biggrin I don't know if that kind of thing happend for real, but it happens in movies… so I'm sticking with it. cool

One more thing from the article…
The astrological weather forecaster, who is receiving medical help for stress, spoke to the Times-Age from a secret location this week.

Hope KR isn't using homeopathy. biggrin Or Bach flower rescue remedy. wink

If he has had death threats that's horrible but with regard to the article what got me was;

“The fear of prosecution for inciting a riot has also silenced him on earthquake predictions”

Then;

“He will continue making astrological weather forecasts for New Zealand but will for now hold his tongue about earthquakes in the Shaky Isles.”

Then at the end of the article:

“After this month the moon moves away, the Jupiter Saturn effect moves away that's been causing solar activity, and it'll be the end of the main part of the earthquake sequence. Things will die down then."

Looks like a lunar(tic) earthquake “prediction” to me just a few paragraphs after being "silenced".

Hang on a minute...
He was leaving town and going into hiding...
I think like a whole lot of Aucklanders he was leaving town and going on a long weekend holiday, plus a bit of self promotion/appealing for pity in the process.

If you are sincerely going into hiding, you don't talk to the press about it.
