There are a few possibilities. Certainly advertising standards regarding false or misleading advertising claims, but you could also try the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, particularly their Scamwatch:
http://www.consumeraf... Also, the Commerce Commission might act under the Fair Trading Act http://www.comcom.gov... Medically, you could have a go with the Pharmacy Guild, although given that is a self policing operation and a lot of pharmacists are in on these scams, then it may well be an ineffective route - same goes for the Chiro's since they are not regulated and not covered by the Medical Council or a similar statutory body. Hope this helps! |

From asa.co.nz:
"In lodging a complaint with the Complaints Board the complainant accepts that he/she will not pursue the complaint in any other forum and is required to sign a waiver to that effect." Should I go with ASA or try the others first? Who's more likely to get the job done? And can I come back to ASA if the others don't work? |

Ah, they may get you to sign the waiver but if it fails there are a load of us that won't have....

Good call...
I'll start putting some info together and start submitting... I'm thinking possibly commerce commision first. |

The Commerce Commission is probably a good bet first up - if they take it up, then I think they have the most clout in terms of legal options and prosecutions.
