Thanks to those who attended on Thursday 6th May. As I said at the time, the small room downstairs at The Windsor really wasn't suitable, especially for the number of people that turned up. We will have better prospects with venues if we change the night to Monday or Tuesday - pubs are willing to accommodate groups such as ours on those nights as demand is lower than on Thursday nights. (The main issue with the old venue was that they wanted to charge us $500 to use the place.) The Windsor has a separate room/bar called Juice Bar which would be more suitable. Anyway, which night would you prefer?

Would you be willing to pay a nominal $1 - $2 charge at the door? Last month we were a bit disorganised with a sound system and projector screen. The pub wanted to charge us $80 for setting it up last minute. If we organise in advance it will be cheaper, but they want to start charging us for equipment. If eveybody paid a small amount that would cover these expenses.

We had nibbles at our first meeting, but it was left to those who wanted to pay to share the cash. It wasn't entirely comfortable going around begging for money - and quite a few people paid more than their fair share. Do people want nibbles on an ongoing basis?

There's obviously been a need for an Auckland Skeptics in the Pub for quite a while - but why have you joined?
